Between the Storms
observations in the field
For the last two weeks in Northern California, there has been heavy rainfall paired with unusually strong winds & according to the forecast, it will continue for at least another week or so. As a result, our rivers continue to rise with increased run-off from the mountains in the east & a significant amount of trees have been uprooted. To see the damage for myself, I decided to take some walks on a path that runs alongside the American River.
While observing, I also jotted down some notes in my phone:
the background noise: a clash of wind & traffic
the line is blurred
mud leeches into the water
muting the devastation

I said it before and I'll say it again, these are absolutely beautiful in their tragedy. Stunning work my friend!
