Inspired by Tim Carpenter’s Christmas Day, Bucks Pond Road and Susanne Helmert’s My Visual Journal collection.
The photographs below were all made on a single winter afternoon bike ride along a 3-mile stretch of the nearby path by my in-law’s home. By documenting and sharing this rather mundane experience in chronological order, the viewer gets a glimpse of what I see along the way from point A to point B. I hope you enjoy the ride ~
“Unlike any other aesthetic object, the photograph is a thing that embodies transience: it is an action made of time (its brief duration noted on the shutter setting) that results in a thing that endures in time. This peculiarity is one source of its unique power.” - Tim Carpenter, To Photograph Is To Learn How To Die
When I saw the title, I immediately thought of Tim Carpenter and that it must be an homage to him. That I gave a little inspiration here too makes me happy! It was a beautiful ride. Quiet observations. Thank you!
Nice man! Very much in the stylings of Christmas Day, Bucks Pond Road 👌🖤📷
