Dude. The movie they made based on that book (In Cold Blood) is simply spectacular. The acting, the emotion, the cinematography... If you haven't seen it and you're enjoying the book you absolutely must watch it!
Thank you for sharing that Robert Frank book; I have to admit I felt the same as you seeing these few images you shared, it feels like a totally different photographer and I absolutely love that.
I'm hoping and praying that when I can afford it there are some copies of Allan's book left, truly a poetic photographer and definitely someone I believe print would make a huge difference in how one views his work vs a screen.
I watched the movie right after I finished reading the book last week! For the time it was made, it was absolutely rad; like you say, the emotion, cinematography..BUT, for me personally, the acting & storyline wasn't as in depth as the book (which is always the book -> movie problem). But still, such a great film. I'm definitely gonna be reading more of Capote's work.
& hell yeah, I can't get over that Frank book! It helps reinforce that notion that we are artists & we can make whatever the fuck we wanna make!! & to never stop experimenting!
You really should get a copy of Allan's before it's too late..On top of the overall perfection of the book, the size is ideal & can be throw in a small bag or even a big jacket pocket perhaps! Which is a win-win & an ultimate travel companion for those added bursts of inspiration :')
